This is my third and last in the series of three blogs regarding the benefits of Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) for men. Not to be redundant, but I want it understood that testosterone levels DECREASE as we age beginning in the mid 30’s. TRT helps the body increase the levels to where they were prior to the decline. Here are four more reasons to consider TRT.
Optimal testosterone levels = MORE energy = an increase in the production of red blood cells, which carry oxygen from the lungs through the body MORE efficiently. More energy = more physical activity in ALL areas of life (use your imagination!)
Keeping testosterone levels in the optimal range can help increase sleep. Additionally, sleeping less than 5-6 hours a night can actually decrease testosterone levels by up to 10%!
Testosterone helps with bone density keeping bones strong. It’s common for individuals with osteoporosis to have low levels of testosterone.
Optimal testosterone levels can help with weight maintenance and weight loss. Low testosterone levels can mean higher estrogen levels. The body can store excess estrogen as belly fat (NEVER a good look!)
To repeat myself, YOUR optimal testosterone levels should be determined by a medical doctor. I do NOT recommend starting TRT without consulting a physician and having your bloodwork done. Be cautious of ANY service or provider that is willing to sell or provide TRT without a physical and blood test results from a licensed physician. Your doctor should discuss your results with you and let you know if TRT is warranted.
